International Coastal Cleanup 2025

Volunteer students from the Senior High School levels and TVET, alongside dedicated Lay Mission Partners, took part in the International Coastal Cleanup 2025 today, September 20, 2025, at the SM by the Bay in Central Park, Mall of Asia Complex.

This initiative, now proudly celebrating its 40th year, forms a crucial part of the global conservation movement aimed at removing trash from coastlines and waterways. This year, spearheaded by SM Cares, the effort focuses on restoring and preserving the natural beauty and ecological health of Manila Bay, ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for all.

The volunteers from Don Bosco Makati gathered at the campus early in the morning for breakfast and an important briefing. They then proceeded to the coastlines of the Central Park Zone, where they collected trash and debris, placing it into sacks. Following this, all the sacks were brought to the weighing booth, a critical step for proper disposal and data collection to help identify the sources of litter.

The Bosconians and Lay Mission Partners firmly believe in the principles of integral ecology, which fosters behavior change and enhances environmental stewardship. Their commitment is driving significant change for a sustainable future.
