The Junior High School (JHS) Department of Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati recently held the Shop Promotions and Tour 2022 for their Grade 8 students. The Online Shop Promotions featured the alumni and experts as resource persons while the Shop Tour was held onsite. The aim of the activity is to orient more deeply and provide the needed information before the Grade 8 students decide on the technology that they will specialize in Grades 9 & 10.
Incidentally, it was the first time since the start of the pandemic that the Grade 8 students were able to set foot in the JHS grounds, particularly the technical shops. During the shop tour, the students were able to see actual demonstrations and do some hands-on activities in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Electronics, Drafting, Computer, and Graphic Design Animation. They were amazed that the technical programs have a lot to offer and actual shop work is exciting and interesting. In fact, they look forward to coming to school next academic year.
One of the best Catholic schools in the country, Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati is well-known in providing technical education both in basic education and Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the poor and out-of-school youth. Incidentally, limited face-to-face classes are being held in selected grade levels in grade school, junior high school, and senior high school. Officials of the Department of Education visited, validated, and allowed the conduct of limited face-to-face classes with all requirements and health standards satisfactorily met. With that, every student can say when they come to school “I am here. I am safe. I am home.”
